What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a conservative health profession specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. A Chiropractor essentially relies upon non-invasive treatment methods and will refer patients to medical practitioners should medication or surgery be indicated. The promotion of injury prevention and health maintenance are also an important component in chiropractic care. For more information, click here
The Chiropractic Adjustment
The primary method of treatment used by chiropractors is the Adjustment.
This is a specific form of joint manipulation that is characterised by a quick and very specific thrust to a restricted joint either in the spine or extremities (knee, ankle, shoulder, wrist, etc) Adjustments are commonly associated with an audible “crack” (cavitation). The aim of the adjustment is to stimulate the nervous the system and restore normal joint movements. For more information on chiropractic treatments, click here.
